In the context of the current tsunami of European regulations on data and artificial intelligence systems, the European Commission issued on the 3rd of May a proposal for a Regulation on the European Health Data Space. The new regulatory landscape put forward by the Commission will have a major impact on the rights of European citizen as well as on the whole health sector, including physicians, healthcare providers and professionals, researchers, innovators, policymakers, and regulators. It will also give a prominent role to standardization organizations to define standards and technical specifications regarding the quality and interoperability of data, and to lay down key measures to ensure security, safety, and fundamental rights are upheld. This seminar will discuss the major aspects of the European Health Data Space and the AI standardization strategy in the health sector from a multidisciplinary perspective by gathering experts from the academia, standardization organizations and the industry.
