This book accounts for the main transformations of Modern law in four key areas : the legal system; the social contract; how the law is applied to cases and the regulation of personal relationships. Going back to the early age of Modern law, the book is nevertheless chiefly oriented to the future transformations of the legal field. It analyses three competing scenarios : the economic approach, the communautarian approach and the procedural approach to postmodern law.
