par Moritz Baumgärtel , Sarah Ganty

On 3 June, Sarah Ganty and Moritz Baumgärtel will be presenting at the 2016 Annual Meeting of the Law & Society Association (LSA) in New Orleans, LA. The papers will be delivered as a part of a panel dealing with the advantages and disadvantages of creating special protection regimes for vulnerable groups.

Sarah Ganty’s paper concerns the prohibition of discrimination on the ground of social condition as a tool to protect socio-economically underprivileged people. Moritz Baumgärtel will address the question of the effectiveness of the European Court of Human Rights and the Court of Justice of the EU as bodies for the promotion of migrant rights.

Other presenters in the panel, which will be chaired by Eva Brems (Ghent University), include Barbara Oomen (Utrecht University), Arne Vandenbogaerde (Antwerp University) and Joseph Damamme (ULB). The discussant will be Sally Engle Merry (NYU).
